Description
Double Round Jaw Bending Pliers
When both jaws are round, the wire curves instead of folding. That is the point of our double round jaw bending pliers. The catalogue lists them for hooks and wire up to .020″ (0.51 mm).
Two Round Jaws, Smooth Curves
A flat jaw makes a corner. By contrast, two round jaws roll the wire into a curve. So hooks and loops come out smooth, and the wire keeps its strength.
Forming Hooks
Hooks hold elastics and chain, so their shape matters. With this plier, you form the hook in a few short turns. Then you close it just enough to keep the elastic in place. Also check that no sharp end faces the cheek.
Stay Within .020″
The catalogue caps it at .020″ wire. Heavier wire may strain the joint or flatten the jaws. For thicker work, choose a sturdier plier instead.
Tips for Clean Curves
- Grip near the tips for small curves.
- Move toward the joint for larger ones.
- Turn in small steps and check often.
Daily Care
Round jaws show scratches quickly. For that reason, wipe them clean soon after use and dry them well. Then add a touch of lube to the hinge every so often.
The Intrace Standard
This plier is made to our specification and receives a US inspection. Its stainless steel follows ASTM F899. If the making falls short, three years against manufacturing defects protect you, and we will fix it or send another. It arrives non-sterile; after a wash and sterile cycle, you can put it back into use again and again. For loops as well, see the light wire bending and loop forming pliers.
