Description
Dissecting Hook
The dissecting hook holds tissue aside during fine dissection. Each end carries a hook, so one tool offers two working tips.
Single or double hooks
One version has a single hook on each end. In contrast, the other has double hooks for a broader grip. Choose by tissue type.
Lengths of the dissecting hook
We offer 8 cm and 10 cm. The 8 cm fits delicate work. Meanwhile, the 10 cm reaches a little deeper.
Who uses it
Anatomy, pathology and surgical teams use it. It also suits teaching labs. Many keep both styles, since the double hook spreads load on softer tissue.
Handling
Hold it like a pen and hook the tissue lightly. Then pull gently to open the view. Then switch ends as the task changes, using the double hook on softer tissue.
Pairing
Use it with fine forceps and scissors. It also works beside a triple chain hook for wider exposure.
Holding technique
Hook just under the edge of the tissue rather than through the full thickness. In addition, rest your wrist on the table for a steadier grip. Then flip the tool to use the other end when needed.
Dissecting hook options
