Description
Disc System Self-Aspirating Syringe, Grey Wings
Our grey wing disc syringe pairs passive aspiration with a light-toned finger grip. It holds a standard 1.8 ml cartridge. Instead of a pull on the stopper, a short pause in thumb pressure does the check.
Passive Aspiration in Plain Terms
Think of the cartridge diaphragm as a tiny rubber cushion. While you push, the disc presses into it. Once you stop pushing, the cushion regains its shape. As a result, the pressure inside drops a little, and blood would show in the cartridge if the tip sat in a vessel. Then you either go on or reposition.
Three Disc Models, One Mechanism
We stock the disc system with black, grey or steel wings. The aspiration works the same way on all three. So the choice comes down to feel and colour. Grey reads softer on the tray than black, yet it still contrasts with the bright barrel. Steel wings, by contrast, give an all-metal grip.
A Good Fit for Teaching Clinics
Students first learn to aspirate with a thumb ring. Later, many try a passive design to compare. This model makes that step easy, because the hand moves in one line only. In practice, it lets the learner focus on angle and depth.
Common Injections
Typical uses include the inferior alveolar block, buccal infiltration and palatal injection. Also, the grey wing disc syringe lets you repeat the check during a slow deposit.
- Fits any standard 1.8 ml cartridge
- Grey wings with the same disc action as its siblings
- No thumb ring to pull back
Reprocessing Between Patients
The syringe comes non-sterile. Before first use, and after every patient, remove the needle and spent cartridge. Next, clean off debris, rinse, dry and sterilize, since it is reusable.
Warranty, Steel and Links
If a manufacturing fault appears, the grey-wing Disc syringe is repaired or replaced under our three-year defect warranty. On top of that, every steel part conforms to ASTM F899 for surgical stainless. We source it to our own design and inspect it in the United States. See every anaesthesia syringe we carry, or view the steel wing disc version. Our help and FAQs cover returns and orders.
