The De Martel-Wolfson clamp holds a bowel end during anastomosis. It comes in 5, 7 and 10 cm, and it works with a matching holder.

Three sizes

The 5 cm clamp suits small bowel. Meanwhile, the 7 cm and 10 cm clamps suit wider segments. So many teams stock a pair in each size they use.

How the system fits together

You close each clamp with the De Martel closing forceps. Then a holder joins two clamps, so the bowel ends sit side by side for suturing.

Building a matched set

The clamps work best in pairs of the same size, one for each bowel end. So order two of each size you use. In addition, you need the closing forceps and at least one holder, long or short. Because the parts work as a system, keep them together on one tray. Also, check the clamps still seat firmly in the holder at each tray check. Also, the clamps are small, so a dedicated tray keeps them together through reprocessing.
