Description
Cuticle Scissors
The cuticle scissors trim cuticles, hangnails and soft tissue around the nail. Fine, sharp tips reach into the nail fold and cut only what the user aims at.
Straight or curved
The straight version suits flat, open cuts along the nail edge. Meanwhile, the curved version follows the rounded nail fold, which helps when trimming around the base.
Fine tips on the cuticle scissors
Both tips are sharp, so they slip under a small flap of skin easily. As a result, the cut stays neat without tugging on healthy tissue.
Typical uses
Podiatrists and nurses use them in routine nail care. In addition, minor surgery teams use them to trim small skin tags and sutures.
Cutting technique
Lift the loose cuticle gently with the tips, then close the blades in one smooth stroke. Avoid cutting into the living fold, since that invites infection.
Size
At 10 cm, the scissors sit comfortably between thumb and ring finger. Consequently, the user has fine control even on small toes.
Clinic hygiene
Clean and sterilise the scissors between patients. In addition, keep a separate pair for each clinic session so reprocessing never holds up the list.
