Description
Capture Extracting Forceps
Some teeth need a firm, steady hold more than raw force. Our capture extracting forceps aim at that need, with an atraumatic design that grips the tooth securely. You can order an Upper version and a Lower version.
Built around grip, not force
Atraumatic work tries to keep bone and soft tissue intact for later steps such as implants. For this reason, the forceps you choose should hold without slipping, so you do not need extra squeeze. The Capture design focuses on that secure grip. We keep the talk about mechanism short, because the feel in your hand tells you more than a long story.
Upper or Lower: which one first
The Upper version suits the maxillary arch, and the Lower version suits the mandibular arch. Lower forceps usually angle their beaks near ninety degrees to the handles, while upper forceps run straighter. So the choice comes down to the arch you work on most. Many clinics take both, since we offer each one singly and each covers its own arch.
Signs it may suit your practice
- You place many implants and want to protect the socket walls.
- Your team prefers a calm, slow extraction over quick force.
- Patients often present with fragile crowns that need a careful hold.
Seating and steady pressure
Seat the beaks on root surface just below the gum line, not on the crown. Then apply slow, steady pressure and give the ligament time to tire before you add any rotation. When the tooth moves freely, lift it along its natural path.
After the case
Rinse the working end promptly so no blood sets hard in the joint. Next, clean and dry the instrument fully, then add a drop of lubricant to the hinge before sterilization. A smooth hinge gives you better feel in the next case.
Order and warranty details
Every Capture forceps follows our own specification and passes a quality look in the United States. The handles and beaks use a stainless steel matched to ASTM F899. A sturdy three years against manufacturing defects comes with it, so a production fault is our problem, not yours. It ships non-sterile; scrub it, sterilize it, and it is fit for a long run of cases.
