Description
Caliper DA#1
The Caliper DA#1 is a ring handled dental measuring caliper. You work it with the rings, much like scissors, and the fine tips move against a small scale, so you read the gap directly.
What you measure with it
Use it to check the thickness of a wax pattern, a temporary crown or a coping before you move to the next step. For example, a quick reading tells you whether a wall is thick enough to stay strong, or thin enough to seat. It also measures short distances on models.
Handling the Caliper DA#1
The ring handles give the same grip as scissors, so most clinicians and technicians find it natural at once. Hold it lightly, since squeezing hard can distort a soft wax pattern. Then read the scale at eye level for the most accurate result.
Care
Wipe wax and debris from the tips after use. Then wash, dry and sterilize the caliper to your protocol, and store it with the tips protected.
