Brewer Rubber Dam Clamp Forceps
A rubber dam clamp must be spread, carried and released with one hand. Meanwhile, the other hand guides the dam. Brewer rubber dam forceps do that work. Their beaks engage the holes in the clamp jaws, and squeezing the handles opens the clamp so it can slip over the crown. Then you position it and let go.
Three Ways to Buy a Brewer
This page lists three options. The Standard option is the Brewer exactly as our supplier’s catalogue shows it. Pattern A, 15 cm and Pattern B, 15 cm are two further Brewer-style forceps that we stock under our own codes. Both share the same 15 cm length. However, the catalogue gives no written difference between them. So compare the two photos and pick the closer match to your current forceps.
What the Brewer Shape Offers
The Brewer is one of several named clamp forceps, alongside Ivory, Stokes, Palmer and Ainsworth. Clinicians often choose a pattern by habit from dental school. So the simplest rule is to reorder the style your team trusts. Hand feel matters here.
Clamp Placement Step by Step
- Insert the beaks into the clamp holes.
- Squeeze the handles to open the jaws.
- Seat the jaws below the height of contour, then release.
Once the clamp is stable, ease the beaks out and stretch the dam over the bow.
From Our Atlanta Shelf to Your Operatory
Every Brewer forceps gets a joint and beak check in the United States before shipping. They arrive unsterilized, so clean the beaks and hinge, then autoclave before any patient use. Also, all three Brewer options carry a warranty of three years against manufacturing defects in the joint, beaks or handles.
The forceps steel meets ASTM F899 for surgical stainless grades. Pick matching rubber dam clamps for these forceps, see the full diagnostic, periodontal and restorative page, or read our customer FAQs.
Made for dental teams trained in isolation technique. Our hinged instrument care page and US shipping options are worth a look before your order arrives.
