Description
Bone Condenser, 3 mm
Small defects need a small tool. This bone condenser 3 mm is a single stainless steel instrument with a compact face. It fits sites where a wide packer would bridge over the gap. The supplier’s implant catalogue lists it simply as Bone Condenser 3mm.
Why Choose the 3 mm Size
A narrow face concentrates hand pressure on a smaller area. So it pushes graft into a thin buccal gap, a root-shaped socket apex or the corner of a ridge defect. Wider condensers spread the same force further, which suits open sockets. Many clinicians therefore keep both: the 3 mm for detail and a larger face for bulk. In addition, the small size keeps the site visible while you work.
Technique Notes for Small Sites
First, place a modest amount of hydrated graft with a carrier. Next, set the 3 mm face on top and press straight down. Use short, gentle strokes rather than one heavy push. Then check the fill with a probe before adding more. Because a small face can over-pack locally, light control matters more than force here.
Companion Instruments
- A graft carrier to deliver each increment
- A curette for site preparation
- A larger condenser for open sockets
While the 3 mm condenser handles tight spots, those companions cover the rest of the tray.
Checked in the USA, Shipped Non-Sterile
Our staff look over each small condenser in the United States, face and shank, before it ships. It arrives unsterilized, so scrub away packing residue and run a full autoclave cycle before first use. Also, the 3 mm condenser is backed for three years against manufacturing defects that trace back to its production.
The instrument steel conforms to ASTM F899 for surgical stainless. For a broader face, see the Bone Condenser IBP3/5 mm. You can also browse our periodontal and restorative instrument category or visit the FAQ page.
Sold for surgical use by qualified dental clinicians only; before the first case, review our instrument reprocessing advice and the dispatch and transit policy.
