Description
Berger Cervical Biopsy and Specimen Forceps Shaft
Berger biopsy forceps collect small punch biopsies from the cervix under colposcopic guidance. This version has a 20 cm shaft, a little shorter than many others in the range.
A shorter shaft
At 20 cm, the shaft gives a compact feel in the hand. So some clinicians find it easier to steady at close range. By contrast, longer shafts suit deeper or more awkward views.
How punch sampling works
The clinician positions the open jaws on the target, then closes them firmly. As a result, a small piece of tissue comes away in the jaws. Next, the sample drops into fixative and travels to the lab.
Part of a range
We stock several shaft-pattern punch forceps. So Berger biopsy forceps give you a shorter option alongside the 22 cm patterns. Also, you can mix patterns to suit each clinician.
Before the clinic
Check that the jaws close cleanly with no gap. Then test the action a few times to confirm it feels smooth. However, set aside any instrument with a chipped edge.
Reprocessing Berger biopsy forceps
Rinse and brush the jaws while tissue still feels moist. Then clean along the shaft and dry every surface. Finally, store the Berger biopsy forceps in a slot that keeps the jaws from touching other metal.
