Description
Band Seating Pliers
Getting a band to its final height takes steady, controlled force. These band seating pliers give you that push at the chair, after you have sized and shaped the band. It is a single pattern, with no options to choose from.
The Last Step in Banding
Banding has a clear order. First you size the band, then you shape it, and only then do you seat it. This plier covers that final step. It helps you move the band down the crown until it sits at the height you planned.
Working With Control
Place the working end on the band edge and press in short, firm moves. Then work around the tooth, so the band goes down evenly instead of tilting. Check the height from the side as you go. If the band binds, stop and re-shape it rather than forcing it.
What a Good Seat Looks Like
Before you cement, run through a quick check:
- Band edge at an even height around the crown.
- Bracket or tube lined up with the tooth’s long axis.
- No rocking when you press on one side.
- No sharp edge that the patient can feel on the gum.
Fitting Into Your Band Kit
This plier works best beside a contouring plier and a hand pusher. The contouring plier shapes the wall, while the band seating pliers do the pressing. A hand pusher then helps with small final moves.
Tip Care After Each Case
Cement sets fast, so wipe the working end soon after use. Then look for burrs or nicks, since a rough tip can scratch the band. Work the hinge through its full travel too, so it moves freely.
Buying and Reprocessing This Seating Plier
Our own spec sets the pattern, and our crew in the United States handles the final review. For steel, it relies on a stainless type in line with ASTM F899. If you find a fault from the factory, you are protected under a three years against manufacturing defects policy. Our shipping state is non-sterile, so give it a wash and a steam cycle before the first patient; from then on it is fit to reuse. You might also need our band removing pliers for the end of treatment. See every orthodontic instrument we stock, and our common order questions.
Sold only for professional use. Our sterilization steps and shipping options are worth a read too.
