Description
Amalgam Well Pot
Mixed amalgam has to sit somewhere between the capsule and the carrier, and loose alloy on a tray wastes material. An amalgam well pot gives it a dedicated, contained spot. It reaches us as a named component of our supplier’s restorative sets, and we sell it on its own. Only one well pot pattern exists on this page, so no size or style needs choosing.
How the Well Pot Fits the Workflow
First, the assistant empties the triturated capsule into the well. Next, the carrier is pressed into the alloy to load it, then passed to the dentist for placement. Because the material stays gathered in the pot, each pick-up is consistent and little alloy is lost on the tray. Finally, any surplus goes straight to amalgam waste at the end of the procedure.
Matching Your Existing Set
The catalogue lists this piece by name only, as part of a set, without separate dimensions. So the product photo is the reference for its shape and size. If you already own the matching set and need a replacement well, compare the image with your current pot before ordering. Should you need more detail, our FAQ page explains how to reach us.
A Well Pot for Each Operatory
Many practices keep one pot per restorative tray. That way, a second tray can be set up while the first is in reprocessing. In addition, a spare well is helpful for dental school clinics where many students work at once.
Each well pot is examined for finish and shape by our United States staff before it ships. However, it arrives non-sterile, so put the pot through your full wash and autoclave cycle before first use. Also, a well pot that proves faulty is covered: buyers get three years against manufacturing defects pot by pot, apart from normal wear.
Our steel instruments follow ASTM F899 for surgical stainless. Browse the restorative instrument category, keep a chairside Amalgam Finger Cup too, or see our FAQs.
For use by trained dental teams. Please check our tray sterilization guidance and the shipping and delivery information.
