Description
6 Way Adjustable Scalpel Handle
The 6 way adjustable scalpel handle lets you lock the blade at six different angles. Therefore one handle covers several access directions instead of a drawer of fixed patterns.
Six positions
Each setting points the blade in a new direction relative to the grip. For example, one position suits a straight cut, while another reaches around a curve. Because the mount locks, the blade stays put once you choose.
Setting up the 6 way adjustable scalpel handle
Choose the angle first, then load the blade. Also test the lock by pressing lightly against a firm surface before you begin. If it moves, reset it until it clicks home.
Care
Move the mount through its positions while you rinse, because debris hides in the joint. Dry it completely before sterilization.
Compared with a single angle handle
A fixed angled handle gives one offset only. In contrast, this handle moves through six, so one instrument can replace several on a crowded tray. The trade-off is a joint that needs cleaning and checking. Therefore, include the lock test in your routine before each case. Also, clinicians who share a surgery often prefer it, since each person can set their own angle. That flexibility suits multi-chair practices. Finally, record your preferred settings on the tray list for quick setup.
