Choosing a length

Short handles of 8 and 10 cm suit fine work close to the hand. In contrast, the 13 and 15 cm lengths match a typical general handle. For deep fields, the 18 and 20 cm options keep your hand clear of the wound edge.

Care

Use a blade remover to take off the used blade. Afterward, brush and rinse the fitting, and dry the handle fully before sterilizing it.

Matching length to the task

Think about where your hand rests during the cut. For work at the skin surface, a short handle keeps the blade close to your fingertips. For a deep abdominal or veterinary field, however, a long handle keeps your knuckles clear. If you use both kinds of work, two lengths cover most cases.
