Description
Zaufal Foreign Body Lever
The Zaufal foreign body lever helps remove objects lodged in the ear canal. Clinicians use it to get behind a foreign body and ease it outward.
How a lever works
Smooth, round objects often slip from forceps. Instead, a lever goes past the object and pushes it toward the opening. As a result, the clinician avoids pushing it deeper.
Size information
Our listing has no size data for the Zaufal. So please contact us before you order, and we will give you the length and tip details. We can also send photos.
In practice
First, the clinician spots the object with an otoscope or microscope and judges its shape. Next, the Zaufal tip slides between the object and the canal wall. Then a gentle lever action brings it out.
Where it fits
A foreign body kit often holds a lever, a hook, small forceps and suction. Therefore the clinician can switch tools as needed. The Zaufal adds another approach for stubborn objects. Also, having two methods ready can shorten a difficult visit.
Caring for the Zaufal
Rinse the instrument after use and brush the tip gently. Next, dry the Zaufal fully, since trapped moisture can mark steel. Then sterilize it before storage.
