Description
Yasargil-Samii Bayonet-Shaped Tumor and Tissue Grasping Forceps
Yasargil-Samii tumor forceps are bayonet-shaped grasping forceps for removing tumor and tissue in microneurosurgery. The pattern combines the names of Gazi Yasargil and Madjid Samii, two leaders in skull base and microsurgery.
A bayonet grasping forceps
The bayonet bend keeps the surgeon’s hand out of the microscope’s view. So the tips stay visible even deep in a resection cavity. That matters when tumor lies close to vessels and nerves.
Three tip sizes
We sell these forceps at 23 cm with a 3, 5 or 7 mm tip. The 3 mm tip suits fine work. Meanwhile, the 5 mm and 7 mm tips take larger bites, which speeds removal of bulky tissue.
Where they fit
During tumor surgery, surgeons often switch between suction, coagulation tools and grasping forceps. The Yasargil-Samii tumor forceps take out tissue once the surgeon has loosened it. For example, the 7 mm tip clears the center, then a smaller tip works the margins.
Choosing a tip size
If you want one pair, the 5 mm tip offers a good balance. However, a full set of three gives the most flexibility across tumor types. Contact us for a set quote.
Caring for your Yasargil-Samii forceps
Clear tissue from the tips right after use. Next, clean them with a soft brush, including the bayonet bend. Then rinse well, dry completely and sterilize them with the tips protected.
