Description
Tumor and Tissue Grasping Forceps, Bayonet-Shaped
Neurosurgeons use these bayonet tumor grasping forceps to lift out tumor and tissue. The bayonet shape keeps the surgeon’s hand to one side, so the view down the microscope stays clear.
The offset handle
With a microscope in place, a straight handle would block the line of sight. Therefore, bayonet forceps offset the handle from the working tip. That lets the surgeon grasp tissue deep in the field while still seeing it.
Straight or angled
We sell 18 cm forceps with a straight or angled tip. The straight tip reaches directly ahead. Meanwhile, the angled tip helps around corners, such as the side walls of a resection cavity.
Where they fit
During tumor removal, surgeons often alternate between suction, coagulation and grasping forceps. These bayonet tumor grasping forceps take pieces of tissue out once the surgeon frees them. Many teams keep both tips ready.
Choosing a tip
If you only want one, the straight tip is the most versatile. However, the angled tip becomes useful when you work around structures. Contact us for tip dimensions before you order if you need them.
Caring for your bayonet grasping forceps
Clean tissue from the tips immediately after use, since fine tips trap debris. Then brush them gently and rinse. Dry completely and sterilize them with a tip guard in place.
