Description
Wynman Crown Gripper with Tungsten Carbide Jaws
The Wynman crown gripper is a slim forceps for holding crowns, temporaries and bands securely. Its jaws carry tungsten carbide inserts, so they bite on a smooth restoration without slipping. As a result, you can seat, rotate and remove a crown with confidence.
Why tungsten carbide jaws
Polished crowns are hard to hold, especially when they are wet. Carbide inserts are harder than stainless steel and carry a fine grip pattern that stays sharp far longer. Therefore the gripper keeps its hold after years of use, while the inserts resist wear from ceramic and metal surfaces.
Without a ratchet
This version has no ratchet. You control the pressure directly, which suits try-ins and delicate temporaries where a locked jaw could crack the restoration. Release is instant, too.
Using the Wynman crown gripper
Grip the crown on its buccal and lingual surfaces, close to the margin for the best purchase. Next, rock it gently along the long axis of the tooth when removing a temporary. For try-in, hold it lightly and seat it with steady pressure before releasing.
Care
Clean the jaws soon after use so that cement does not set in the serrations. Brush the inserts with a nylon brush, rinse and dry. Sterilize the gripper open and fully dry, and check the joint for smooth movement.
