The Wullstein suction tube is an ultra-fine suction for middle ear repair. Otologists rely on it for gentle suction near the ossicles and the eardrum.

Named after a tympanoplasty pioneer

Horst Wullstein helped shape modern tympanoplasty in the twentieth century. Several fine ear instruments therefore carry his name. This suction follows the same idea: small, precise tools for middle ear repair.

Sizes and set

You can order 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm or 0.8 mm. Otherwise, choose the complete set with all three. So there are four options in total.

Use in surgery

These fine tips suit the delicate steps of tympanoplasty and stapes surgery. Surgeons also use them to dry a graft bed before placing tissue. Because the bores are tiny, suction stays gentle.

Set or single tubes

The complete set especially suits a new otology tray, since it gives every size at once. It also makes reordering simple later. However, if a single tube goes missing, simply replace that size. We can also advise on adding larger suction tubes for the canal.

Caring for your Wullstein suction tube

Very fine bores clog quickly. So flush each tube immediately after use and clear it with a matching cleaning wire. Then dry the lumen well and sterilize the tube.
