Wullstein Micro Ear Forceps

Wullstein micro ear forceps are fine grasping forceps for middle ear surgery. Surgeons use them to hold grafts, tissue and small pieces of debris under the microscope.

Fine grasping for tympanoplasty

Tympanoplasty requires the surgeon to handle thin grafts and small tissue pieces. So the forceps must pass through a speculum and still grip precisely. These forceps meet that need with small jaws.

Three jaw sizes

Choose a 0.9 x 1.7 mm, 1.7 x 4 mm or 1.7 x 4.5 mm jaw. The smallest jaw suits the finest tasks. The larger jaws, however, hold more tissue with each grasp.

In the operating room

Surgeons use these forceps to place grafts, remove granulation and handle prostheses. Also, they can help lift out small pieces of packing. Most otology trays carry at least two jaw sizes.

Choosing a jaw

If you do a lot of stapes work, the smallest jaw may suit you best. Otherwise, the 1.7 x 4 mm jaw works well for general tympanoplasty. Then add the 1.7 x 4.5 mm jaw for larger tissue.

Caring for your Wullstein micro ear forceps

Rinse the jaws open soon after use. Next, work a fine brush through the joint, then dry the pair. Sterilize the forceps with the jaws open in a padded tray.
