Heymann-Knight scissors are ENT scissors for nasal and tonsil surgery. Surgeons rely on them to trim tissue and cartilage in the nose and to dissect in the throat.

Two familiar names together

Both the Heymann and the Knight patterns have long histories in rhinology. This hybrid carries both names. So surgeons who know either original often feel at home with it.

Length and reach

The pattern measures 18 cm, so it gives enough length to reach the back of the septum or the tonsil fossa. At the same time, the rings sit comfortably outside the face.

Nose and throat tasks

In septoplasty or turbinate work, the blades trim cartilage and mucosa. Meanwhile, during tonsillectomy, the same instrument can open tissue planes. One pair can therefore travel between two trays.

Caring for your Heymann-Knight scissors

Start by rinsing off mucus and blood, ideally within minutes of the last cut. Next, brush the joint while the blades are open. Dry the pair fully, then send it to sterilization with the other nasal instruments.
