Williger Bone Curette

The Williger bone curette comes in single-ended and double-ended forms. It scrapes sockets, cysts and small cavities with a sharp, oval cup.

Double-ended options

At 13 cm, the curette carries two cups, one at each end. Figures 00-0, 0-1 and 1-2 pair two neighboring sizes. So you can switch cup size by turning the instrument around.

Single-ended options

At 15 cm you can order figures 00, 0 and 1. Meanwhile, the 18 cm length offers figures 00, 0, 1 and 2. These longer models reach further into a cavity.

Who uses the Williger bone curette

Oral surgeons use it to debride extraction sockets and remove cysts. Also, hand and foot surgeons use it in small bones. It is a common sight on oral surgery trays.

Choosing your version

Double-ended curettes save tray space and time. However, single-ended curettes give a longer reach. Many surgeons keep one of each.

Socket debridement tips

Scrape the socket walls with light, overlapping strokes. Then check for remaining soft tissue by feel. As a result, the socket ends up clean and ready to heal or receive graft.

Care of double-ended curettes

Clean both cups after use, even if you used only one. Then rinse and dry. Check both rims before the next case.
