Description
Wax and Modelling Carvers
This wax modelling carver page gathers 17 carving patterns that dental technicians and clinicians use to shape wax and similar modelling materials. Each option is named in its label, so you can reorder a familiar pattern or try a new one. Below, we group them by name.
The T and C Series
Three options carry a T suffix: 3T, 4T and 5T. Three more carry a C suffix: 5C, 6C and 7C. The 3/6 is a separate paired pattern. These are set names from our supplier, and the letters and numbers identify each design rather than describe it. Therefore compare the photos to see how each tip is shaped before you order.
Interproximal IPC Carvers, Including Titanium
The IPC, Interproximal is the base interproximal carver in this range. IPC-A, Angled is its angled version. Two options are titanium, as their labels state: IPC, Titanium and IPS, Titanium. So if your team prefers titanium carvers, those are the two to look at.
Classic Named Patterns
Cleoid/Discoid pairs the familiar claw-shaped cleoid with the disc-shaped discoid on one instrument. Black 89/92 is a named double pattern. CVHL ½ is another paired design, while Pich appears both alone and as Carving Knife 21 Pich. Finally, Carving Knife 21 is offered on its own for blade-style carving.
Picking From Seventeen Options
Start with the patterns your lab or operatory already uses, then fill gaps. For example, a technician who carves contacts often adds an IPC and an IPC-A together. Meanwhile, someone shaping occlusal anatomy may lean toward the T or C series.
Steel, Titanium and Coverage
Fifteen of these carvers are stainless steel, and the IPC and IPS titanium pair are titanium. Every modelling carver here gets a United States hand inspection before boxing. Carvers in this range ship unsterilized, so clean and autoclave any IPC, T or C pattern before clinical contact. Our modelling carver warranty gives three years against manufacturing defects to all seventeen patterns.
The stainless pieces meet ASTM F899, outlined on the FDA standards page. Explore the rest of our diagnostic, periodontal and restorative tools, compare with our Cleoid-Discoid Carvers, and visit the FAQs with order questions.
These carvers are sold for qualified dental technicians and clinicians. Reprocessing guidance sits in care and sterilization; delivery windows sit in shipping and delivery.
