Description
Uffenorde Bone Curette
The Uffenorde bone curette is a curved curette for nasal and sinus surgery. Surgeons use it to scrape away thin bone and diseased tissue inside the sinuses.
A curved working end
The sinuses sit around corners from the nostril. So a curved curette lets the surgeon reach tissue that a straight tool cannot. It then pulls tissue back toward the surgeon in a controlled stroke.
An 18 cm length
We list the Uffenorde pattern at 18 cm overall. That gives reach into the nose while the handle stays in a steady grip. Contact us for tip dimensions.
In sinus surgery
Surgeons may use this curette during ethmoid or frontal sinus work. For instance, it can clear thin bony partitions. Also, it pairs well with sinus forceps that cut or grasp.
Making a choice
If your sinus set lacks a curved curette, then this is a sensible addition. However, check it against the size of your endoscope and speculum. We can help you compare options.
Caring for your Uffenorde curette
Remove tissue from the tip straight after surgery. Then brush the curved end carefully under running water. Finally, dry the Uffenorde bone curette and sterilize it.
