Description
Tendon Stripper
This tendon stripper harvests tendon grafts through a small incision. The ring slides along the tendon and frees it from surrounding tissue.
How it works
The surgeon threads the tendon through the ring. Then the instrument slides along the tendon toward the muscle. As a result, the graft comes free without a long incision.
Three diameters
Choose 4.0, 4.5 or 5.5 mm. The ring should fit the tendon closely without crushing it. Therefore match the size to the tendon you plan to harvest.
Who uses a tendon stripper
Hand surgeons harvest palmaris longus and other grafts. Also, knee surgeons harvest hamstring tendons for ligament reconstruction. Reconstructive teams use it too.
Smooth technique
Apply steady tension to the tendon end. Then advance the stripper with a slight twisting motion. Stop if resistance rises suddenly, since a branch may be caught.
Fewer scars
Because the incision stays small, patients have less scarring. Consequently, recovery at the donor site is quicker. That benefit drives the use of strippers.

Stripper care
Flush the ring and shaft to remove tissue. Brush inside the ring carefully. Dry fully before sterilization.
How we look after the stripper
Ahead of packing, one of our Atlanta team goes over the stripper with care. The stripper has our pledge for three years against manufacturing defects from delivery. Also consider our Bunnell pattern. For order basics, consult our order FAQ. We readily confirm details for repeat orders. Surgical stainless steel has a written standard: ASTM F899. Scan our growing orthopedic line for other sizes. Busy hospitals keep a spare stripper for back-to-back cases.
Sold for professional use. Shipping times live on our delivery page. Listing photos can differ by option, and the steel holds nickel; visit the sterilization page for details.
