Description
Stratte Needle Holder
The Stratte needle holder has angled shanks for deep work. That bend lifts your hand clear of your view into the wound.
Angled shanks
The offset shanks keep the handles above the wound plane. As a result, you see the needle tip clearly at depth. That also leaves room for a second instrument in the wound.
Three lengths
The 20 cm size covers moderate depth. Next, the 22 and 23 cm sizes reach further into the pelvis or abdomen. So you can choose the right depth for each case.
Jaw choice
Stainless jaws cost less. However, the carbide model uses the normal profile, so general sutures sit firmly for many more cases. As a result, a Stratte needle holder with carbide keeps its bite through many cycles.
Where it fits
Urology and gynaecology teams often use a Stratte needle holder for deep pelvic stitches. Then a straight holder takes over near the surface. Because of the bend, it also helps when retractors crowd the field.
Care of Stratte needle holder
Clean around the bend in the shanks, since fluid can pool there. Next, brush the jaws and joint well. Also, dry the holder fully before you place it in a tray.
