Description
Stille Dressing & Tissue Forceps
Stille forceps are a 15 cm Scandinavian pattern. You can choose serrated tips or two tooth patterns.
Serrated tips
The serrated Stille grips dressings and suture thread. So it suits wound care and closure.
1:2 or 2:3 teeth
The toothed versions grip tissue firmly. Meanwhile, the 2:3 pattern spreads the hold a little wider.
A balanced length
At 15 cm, the Stille forceps suit most surface work. Therefore they suit a general instrument set.
Building a pair
Many teams keep a serrated Stille pair and a 1:2 pair together. Then they cover dressings and tissue with one pattern. Also, the 2:3 version helps on softer tissue. In addition, Stille forceps suit general closure and wound care. Meanwhile, the three tip choices let one pattern cover several tasks. Therefore many Scandinavian-trained surgeons prefer them. Also, the Stille forceps help in general wound care, where one familiar pattern keeps the tray simple. For example, a serrated pair suits dressings and a 1:2 pair suits sutures. Meanwhile, the 2:3 version suits softer tissue that a single tooth could tear.
Looking after Stille forceps
Rinse the Stille tips soon after use. Afterwards, scrub each serration or tooth row and dry the instrument. Then return it to its slot in the tray.
