Description
Stille-Barraya Tissue Forceps
Stille-Barraya forceps are a long tissue pattern with 3:4 teeth. They come in 18, 20 and 25 cm lengths.
3:4 teeth
The multiple teeth spread the hold across the tissue. So the grip stays secure without deep marks.
Three lengths
The 18 cm size suits moderate depths. Meanwhile, the two longer sizes follow the bowel into the lower abdomen.
Intestinal work
Surgeons often use them on bowel. Therefore they sit well on general and colorectal trays.
Pairing them
Many teams use a Stille-Barraya pair alongside a Russian forceps. Then one holds while the other positions tissue. Also, the longest size helps in pelvic surgery. In addition, the Stille-Barraya pattern suits holding bowel during anastomosis. Meanwhile, the long sizes reach the pelvis without crowding the view. So colorectal and general trays often carry a pair. Also, the Stille-Barraya forceps hold the bowel edge steady while you place stay sutures. For example, colorectal surgeons often choose the 20 cm length for open resections and the 25 cm length for the deep pelvis. Meanwhile, the multi-tooth tip limits marks on the bowel wall.
Reprocessing Stille-Barraya forceps
Rinse the 3:4 teeth soon after use. Next, brush along the Stille-Barraya tips and dry them. Then store the long sizes flat.
