The Sprague paracentesis set is an ear operating set built around one handle and several tips. Otologists use the Sprague paracentesis set for paracentesis of the drum and other small ear canal tasks.

One handle, many tips

The Sprague system puts different working ends on a single handle, so one grip serves every task. As a result, the clinician can switch tasks without changing grip. It also keeps a compact tray.

Seven options

First, you can buy the complete set. Alternatively, choose a single tip for the Sprague handle: needle, knife, spoon, curette, hooklet or probe. That makes seven options in total.

What each Sprague tip does

The needle and knife serve paracentesis of the drum. Meanwhile, the spoon and curette help clear wax and debris. The hooklet then assists with foreign bodies, and the probe with gentle exploration.

Complete or single tips

A new clinic should usually start with the complete Sprague set. Later, single tips replace worn or lost pieces. Tell us which tips you use most, and we will suggest spares.

Caring for the Sprague tips

Separate each tip from the handle after use. Then rinse and brush every piece, and also dry them fully. Sterilize the Sprague parts together in a tray that keeps the fine tips apart.
