Description
Sponge Bowl
During a procedure, sponges often need a quick dip. A stainless sponge bowl holds the solution right where you need it. This round bowl has a wide mouth, so a hand or forceps can reach in with ease.
Wide Mouth, Steady Base
The opening is wide for its height. That makes it easy to dip and wring a sponge. Meanwhile, the flat base keeps the bowl from rocking on a tray.
Pick a Capacity
The bowl comes in two sizes, listed as capacity and diameter × height in inches.
- 1 qt, 5-3/4 × 2-1/2 in: a lower bowl for smaller cases.
- 1-3/8 qt, 6-1/2 × 3 in: wider and deeper, for longer cases or more sponges.
Therefore, think about how much fluid you go through in one case. Then take the size that holds it without filling to the brim.
Not Just for Sponges
The same bowl works for saline, water or a mild rinse. It can also hold small tools for a short soak. Yet keep one stainless sponge bowl per purpose, so solutions do not mix.
Safe Handling
Fill the bowl on the tray, rather than carrying it full. Also wipe any drips at once, because a wet tray can slip. When the case ends, pour the fluid out and rinse the bowl.
Getting It Ready Again
It ships non-sterile. Clean it in a washer-disinfector or at the sink, then dry. Next, sterilize it rim down. So it is ready for the next case, again and again.
