Description
Specimen and Aspirating Curette
Our specimen aspirating curette collects an endometrial sample through a hollow 28 cm shaft. It connects to a suction source and works with a separate valve.
Hollow shaft
The hollow design lets suction pull tissue straight into the curette. So the sample travels up the shaft as you work across the cavity. Also, the 28 cm length reaches the uterus with room to spare for your hand.
3.0 or 4.5 mm
The 3.0 mm size suits a narrow cervical canal. By contrast, the 4.5 mm size draws in a larger sample with each pass. Therefore, many clinics stock both diameters side by side.
The valve
This curette needs the separate valve for aspirating curettes. The valve links the instrument to your suction line. Plus, you can order it on its own from our range if you already own one.
Where it fits
Clinicians choose a specimen aspirating curette when the goal is a tissue sample, not full evacuation. However, a wider aspirating curette suits emptying the cavity. That way, each tool stays with its own task on the tray.
Reprocessing specimen aspirating curette
Run water through the lumen straight after the sample leaves the shaft. Next, push a thin brush along the bore from both ends and rinse again. Then store the curette dry, with its tip protected from knocks.
