Description
Parametrium Scissors With Slight Curve
These parametrium scissors have a slight curve and tungsten carbide edges. Surgeons use them to divide parametrial tissue during hysterectomy.
Dividing the parametrium
The parametrium holds the uterus in place at its sides. So the surgeon must cut it cleanly to free the uterus in hysterectomy. Therefore a dedicated pair keeps that step efficient.
A gentle curve
A slight curve lets the blades follow tissue planes without turning the wrist much. By contrast, a strong curve reaches further around corners. Also, the gentler curve keeps the tips easy to see.
Tungsten carbide edges
The carbide inserts stay sharp longer than plain steel. Then the scissors cut through firm connective tissue with less effort. Plus, the 23 cm length reaches well into the pelvis during open surgery.
Slight or strong curve
We also carry parametrium scissors with a strong curve for deep pelvic work. However, the version with a slight curve suits steps closer to the surface. So many teams keep one of each.
Cleaning parametrium scissors slight curve
Handle the blades by the shanks, not the tips, when you carry them to reprocessing. First, open them wide and rinse the joint thoroughly. Then dry them and store them in a slotted rack that protects the edges.
