Description
Senning Needle Holder (Swedish Pattern)
The Senning needle holder follows the Swedish pattern for cardiovascular surgery. It comes in 15, 17 and 18 cm.
Cardiovascular use
Vessel suturing calls for fine needles and a steady hand. So the slim jaws give you a clear view of each bite. In addition, the Senning needle holder suits delicate vessel walls.
Micro profile
Its carbide jaws carry the micro profile, our finest serration. Therefore it holds fine sutures securely without crushing them. As a result, fine sutures stay square in the jaws.
Stainless option
Plain stainless jaws suit teaching or backup trays. Plus, they keep the cost down for larger sets. Gold handles set the carbide model apart.
Choosing a length
The 15 cm size suits superficial vessel work. Then the 17 and 18 cm Senning needle holder sizes reach into the chest. Many cardiac trays carry two lengths. Also, the slim shanks keep your view of the vessel open. Meanwhile, the ratchet lets you pause between stitches without losing the needle.
Cleaning Senning needle holder
Use only soft brushes on the micro serration. Next, rinse the holder in deionized water and dry it at once. Then protect the tips with a cap during storage and sterilization.
