This is the Semm retractor frame without blades. It measures 300 x 240 mm and holds the Semm blades that you choose for each case.

What the frame does

A frame retractor takes the place of an assistant’s hands. Once the blades are set, the frame keeps them in position for as long as you need. As a result, the exposure stays steady through a long procedure.

300 x 240 mm

The frame measures 300 by 240 mm. That size gives room for blades on more than one side of the wound. However, check the space on your table and drapes before you order.

Blades sold separately

We sell Semm blades on their own in four sizes. So you can build a frame and blade set to suit your own cases. If you would rather order everything together, the complete set is also listed.

Replacing a frame

Some teams already own Semm blades and only need a new frame. In that case this listing saves you from buying blades twice. Also, a second frame lets two rooms run the system on the same day.

Caring for the Semm retractor frame

Remove all blades after surgery. Then clean every joint and fitting with a brush and rinse well. Finally, dry the frame completely and store it where nothing heavy rests on it.
