Description
Sauer Fixation Forceps
The Sauer fixation forceps is a light 7.5 cm tool with a 0.3 mm tip. You can order it curved or straight. It gives a small, firm bite for fixing the globe. As a result, it suits fine anterior segment steps where space is tight.
A 0.3 mm tip
The tip width controls how much tissue you take. At 0.3 mm, the bite is small yet still secure. So it works well for fixation near a wound without crowding the field.

- Fine globe fixation
Curved or straight Sauer
Curved Sauer tips let your fingers sit wide of the view. By contrast, straight tips give a simple, direct pull. Choose curved for most microscope work, and straight if you also use it for general handling.
Small and nimble
At 7.5 cm, the Sauer is one of the shorter fixation patterns. Therefore, it sits close to the eye and moves quickly. It also suits small orbits and tight lid openings.
Where it fits in a case
Use it to steady the globe during an incision, or to hold a wound edge during suturing. Then pass it to an assistant if you need both hands. Keep the pressure light so the tissue does not tear.
Protecting a fine point
Small tips bend easily. For this reason, keep the Sauer in a tip guard and away from heavy tools. After each clean, inspect the tips with a loupe before you sterilize.
