Description
Sarot Needle Holder
The Sarot needle holder is a thoracic pattern with one fenestrated jaw. Four lengths run from 18 cm to 26 cm.
Fenestrated jaw
A window in one jaw lets the needle seat deeper. As a result, curved needles resist rotating while you drive them. So the Sarot needle holder helps with deep bronchial and vessel stitches.
Thoracic reach
The longer sizes pass easily between rib spreaders. Meanwhile, the shorter sizes suit chest wall closure. Then the surgeon can work with less strain.
Jaw material
Stainless jaws suit general needs. Instead, hard carbide jaws with a regular, normal-profile serration give a longer working life. Gold handles make the carbide version easy to spot.
Choosing a length
The 18 and 20 cm sizes handle superficial thoracic work. Then 25 and 26 cm reach the hilum and deep structures. Many thoracic teams keep a short and a long Sarot needle holder together. Plus, the fenestration makes the needle seat in the same spot each time. So repeated passes feel consistent across the case.
Reprocessing Sarot needle holder
Clean through the jaw window with a narrow brush, because debris lodges there. Then rinse the joint under running water. Once dry, confirm that the jaws still close evenly.
