Ross Aortic Retractor

The Ross aortic retractor holds the aortic wall open so the surgeon can see the valve. It measures 25 cm and comes in six blade figures.

Six figures, one length

Every figure shares the same 25 cm length. However, the blade grows from Figure 1 up to Figure 6. So you can match the blade to the size of the aortic opening.

Aortic valve access

During aortic valve work, the surgeon opens the aorta above the valve. Then this retractor lifts the wall to show the leaflets and annulus. Plus, a steady view helps with suture placement.

Building a set

Some teams stock every figure, while others keep two or three common sizes. Also, adding a Ross aortic retractor in a missing figure fills gaps in an older set. Order by figure number to match.

Picking figures

Start with the middle figures if you only need a few. Then add the smallest or largest sizes for unusual anatomy. Because each figure sells separately, you can grow the set over time.

Cleaning Ross aortic retractor

Clean each blade face with a soft cloth or brush right after use. Keep figures sorted by number so sets stay complete. Finally, store them in a rack that prevents blade contact.
