Description
Roberts Artery Forceps
Roberts artery forceps are a long 22 cm hemostat. They come straight or curved for deep clamping.
Straight or curved
Choose straight for a head-on approach. By contrast, curved jaws keep the tips in sight under tissue.
A 22 cm length
The length reaches deep abdominal and pelvic fields. Also, it keeps your hand out of the view.
A firm hold
The serrated jaws grip tissue and vessels. Then the ratchet holds them closed.
Clamping deep pedicles
First, set the tips a little past where the tie will sit. Next, close the ratchet fully. Then pass the tie beneath the jaws. Finally, release slowly as the knot tightens. Because both versions share one length, they fit neatly together on a deep abdominal set. Also, the serrated jaws hold pedicles firmly while you tie.
Cleaning Roberts artery forceps
Brush the serrations and hinge, since blood collects there. Next, flush and dry. Then rack the forceps with the ratchet released.
