Description
Paufique Suture Forceps
The Paufique suture forceps comes in a short 8.5 cm length with plain tips or 1×2 teeth. It suits corneal and wound closure. So you pick between a gentle, toothless hold and a firm, toothed bite.
Plain Paufique tips
Plain tips hold without piercing. As a result, they suit suture handling and thin layers. They also release suture cleanly, which helps when you lay a loop. So they suit tying steps as well.
1×2 toothed tips
One tooth meets two at the tip. Therefore, the hold locks onto a wound edge and resists slipping. This version suits holding cornea or sclera while the needle passes. Also, the bite stays small, which limits marks.
Making the choice
If you mainly hold tissue, choose the toothed version. However, if you also handle suture a lot, plain tips may serve better. Many surgeons keep both on the tray. In that case, label each one clearly in the set.
- 8.5 cm length
- Plain tips for gentle handling
- 1×2 teeth for a firm bite
- Reusable after sterilisation
A short 8.5 cm body
The 8.5 cm Paufique lets your fingers work near the globe. Also, it moves freely in tight spaces. Then you can make small, precise moves with your fingertips.
Care for each tip type
Rinse both versions after use. Next, brush the toothed tips with extra care. Finally, inspect all tips under magnification, and store them in guards. Then dry them, because moisture spots fine steel.
Paufique order and cover
Both versions ship non-sterile. Every Paufique includes three years against manufacturing defects. Paufique tips are stainless steel to ASTM F899. Want a 10 cm option? View the Bonaccolto suture forceps. Browse the ophthalmic tools collection and our FAQ section too.
