Overholt-Mixter Artery Forceps

Overholt-Mixter forceps are a 21 cm dissecting and ligature clamp. The pattern draws on both the Overholt and the Mixter.

A 21 cm length

The length reaches most deep abdominal and chest work. Also, it keeps your hand back from the field.

The jaw

The curved tip passes behind a vessel. Then you open the jaws to spread the tissue plane.

Holding a tie

Serrated tips grip the ligature. Therefore you can draw it through in one move.

Where it sits on a tray

Teams often place it beside a Mixter. So the surgeon has a right angle and a curved option together. In addition, the single size keeps ordering simple. Then add longer clamps if your cases go deeper. In addition, the curved tip gives a gentler angle than a right angle clamp. So it suits planes where a sharp bend would catch tissue. Cleaning Overholt-Mixter forceps

After each case, brush the tip and hinge. Then flush, dry by hand and open the ratchet before you sterilize the clamp.
