Leriche Artery Forceps
Leriche artery forceps are a 15 cm hemostat with a choice of jaw. They come straight or curved, serrated or with teeth.
Jaw options
Serrated jaws hold vessels gently. By contrast, 1:2 teeth grip tougher tissue.
Straight or curved
Both jaw types come straight or curved.
A mid-length hemostat
At 15 cm, it fits between standard 14 cm forceps and longer clamps.
On the tray
Vascular and general trays often carry a few Leriche forceps. Also, the toothed version works as a holding forceps on firm tissue. Because four versions exist, label them clearly on the tray. In addition, the 15 cm length sits between standard and long hemostats. So it suits moderately deep work without the bulk of a longer clamp. Meanwhile, the toothed option adds grip on tissue that tends to slip. Therefore many teams keep one of each jaw on the same tray.
