Description
Museux Tenaculum Forceps
The Museux tenaculum grasps the cervix firmly with toothed jaws. It measures 24 cm and comes straight or curved.
Three jaw widths
Choose a jaw width of 6, 8 or 10 mm. A narrow jaw suits a small cervix, while a wide one spreads the hold. So many teams stock two widths for different patients.
Straight or curved
Straight jaws give a direct line to the cervix. Alternatively, a curve can keep your hand out of the line of sight. Then choose by how your team prefers to work and what your speculum allows.
A firm grip
Toothed jaws hold firm tissue without slipping. Because of that, surgeons reach for it when strong traction matters. Also, it works as a vulsellum in many procedures on the cervix and uterus.
Ordering the right version
Check both jaw width and shape before you order a Museux tenaculum. For example, write ‘8 mm curved’ on your order. That way, you receive the exact version you need.
Cleaning Museux tenaculum
Clean between the teeth with a stiff nylon brush, since tissue lodges there. Next, rinse and dry the jaws carefully, checking each tooth under good light. Store the forceps with the teeth protected to avoid chipping.
