Description
Mini-Adson Tissue Forceps
Mini-Adson forceps shrink the Adson tip for very fine work. They come in 12 and 13 cm, straight or curved.
Fine 1:2 teeth
The tiny teeth grip delicate skin edges. So they suit facial and hand surgery.
Straight or curved
A straight Mini-Adson keeps the bite directly under your fingertips. By contrast, curved tips reach around small structures.
The Adson grip
The broad thumb area keeps the hold steady. Meanwhile, the narrow tip stays precise.
Where they help
Plastic surgeons use Mini-Adson forceps where a standard Adson is too coarse. Then a Micro-Adson covers the finest work. Also, the curved version helps around the eyelid and ear. In addition, the pattern suits eyelid, ear and nose surgery. Meanwhile, the curved version reaches around small contours. Therefore plastic surgeons often keep both shapes. Also, this small pattern helps with fine closure on children, where a small bite leaves smaller marks. For example, a paediatric plastic tray might carry both shapes. Meanwhile, the straight version suits most skin closures. So many surgeons stock both shapes in the 12 cm size for facial work.
Reprocessing Mini-Adson forceps
Hold the Mini-Adson under running water and work a soft brush across the teeth. Towel-dry it by hand. Fit tip guards before the pair goes back in the tray.
