Description
Meeker Artery Forceps
Meeker forceps are a fine clamp with a jaw set at 90 degrees. They come in a short and a long size.
18 cm or 27.5 cm
The shorter 18 cm clamp handles mid-depth work. However, the 27.5 cm size reaches deep thoracic and pelvic fields.
A 90 degree jaw
The angled tip passes behind small vessels. So you can dissect around them with little spreading.
Fine tips
Slim tips hold fine ties. Also, they leave room for other instruments.
Short or long
Teams often pair the two sizes on one set. Then the surgeon uses the short clamp early and the long one as the field deepens. Because both share the same jaw, handling stays familiar. As a result, switching mid-case feels natural. Also, the fine tips leave room for suture and other instruments in a narrow field. Therefore they suit careful dissection close to vessels.
Cleaning Meeker forceps
Brush the angled tips gently, since the bend traps debris. Next, flush and dry. Then keep the tips shielded in storage.
