Description
Lorna Towel Forceps
The Lorna towel forceps hold drapes and tubing with blunt, non-piercing jaws. Because they do not puncture the drape, they keep impervious and plastic drapes intact.
Non-piercing jaws
Sharp towel clips leave holes in the drape. By contrast, the Lorna grips between rounded jaws, so fluid barriers remain whole and the sterile field stays protected.
Sizes of the Lorna towel forceps
We offer 10 cm and 13 cm. Also, the shorter one suits light paper drapes. Meanwhile, the longer one holds thicker layers and bundles of cables.
Holding tubing and cables
Rounded jaws also clamp tubing gently without crushing it. As a result, suction and irrigation lines can be fixed along the drape safely.
Where they shine
Procedures with plastic or impervious drapes, such as orthopaedic and laparoscopic cases, benefit most. In those settings, a hole in the drape could let fluid through.
Placing the forceps
Fold the drape layers together and close the jaws across the fold. Then confirm the ratchet has locked and the drape cannot slide.
Sharp or blunt
Many theatres stock both kinds. Typically, sharp clips go on cloth corners and Lorna clips go on impervious drapes and cables.
