Description
Lorenz Bandage & Clothing Scissors
The Lorenz bandage scissors are heavy scissors for plaster rooms and thick dressings. At 23 cm, their long handles drive strong blades through padding, soft casts and layered bandages.
Built for heavy work
Thick blades resist twisting under load. Consequently, the scissors cut bulky material in fewer strokes, which saves time and effort.
Length of the Lorenz bandage scissors
Twenty-three centimetres gives a long lever. In practice, that means less hand strain when cutting through casts padding or soft plaster.
Plaster room use
Plaster technicians use heavy scissors to trim padding and open soft casts. In addition, they cut stockinette and thick bandages during cast changes.
Protecting the skin
Keep the lower blade between the material and the skin at all times. Also, lift the material as you cut to keep a small gap.
Compared with lighter scissors
Lister and Knowles scissors suit everyday bandages. By contrast, the Lorenz is the tool for heavy work.
Keeping them sharp
Plaster dust dulls blades over time. Therefore, regular sharpening keeps the cut clean.
