Description
Bergmann Bandage & Clothing Scissors
The Bergmann bandage scissors are a heavy, angled pattern for plaster rooms and emergency care. In addition, long handles and strong blades cut through thick bandages, padding and clothing.
Heavy and angled
The blades turn away from the handles at an angle. Therefore, the hand stays above the limb while the lower blade slides along the skin.
Length of the Bergmann bandage scissors
At 23 cm, they offer a long lever for tough material. As a result, plaster technicians can cut padding with less effort.
Typical uses
For example, plaster rooms use them during cast removal and changes. In addition, emergency teams cut heavy clothing with them.
Safe cutting
First, keep the blunt tip against the skin and lift the material slightly. Then cut with long, steady strokes.
Lorenz or Bergmann
Both are heavy 23 cm patterns. However, the Bergmann adds an angle, which some staff prefer near the skin.
Sharpening
Over time, heavy use dulls even strong blades. For that reason, send the scissors for sharpening when the cut begins to tear.
