Description
Light Source End Adaptors For Cables
The light source adaptor seats a light guide cable in the port of a light source. With it, one cable can work with several brands of source.
Four fittings
We offer Acmi, Olympus, Storz and Wolf fittings. Furthermore, each matches that brand’s source port. So check your light source first.
Why use a light source adaptor
Without the right adaptor, light leaks and the cable sits loose. Moreover, a proper fit sends more light down the cable. As a result, the image is brighter.
Where it fits
Theatres with mixed equipment use them. Endoscopy suites and clinics also need them. Spares help when cables move between rooms.
Installing
Screw the adaptor onto the cable’s source end. Then push it fully into the port. Check that the light output looks even.
Matching the other end
The instrument end may need a separate adaptor. See our instrument end adaptors. Together they link source, cable and scope.
Keeping a spare set
Adaptors are small and easy to misplace between rooms. Therefore, many departments keep one spare of each fitting in the endoscopy cupboard. Besides, that way a lost part never delays a list, and cables stay in service.
