Description
Langenbeck-Delicate Needle Holder, Tungsten Carbide
The Langenbeck-Delicate needle holder slims down the classic Langenbeck jaws. It keeps a normal profile on tungsten carbide inserts for general sutures.
Delicate jaws
Narrow jaws on the Langenbeck-Delicate needle holder give a clear view of the needle. Also, they fit between tissue layers where a broad holder would crowd the field. So the needle point stays visible as you drive it.
Normal profile carbide
The regular serration grips general sutures firmly. Meanwhile, the hard inserts keep that grip much longer than plain stainless. Plus, gold handles set it apart from plain holders.
Three lengths
The 18 cm size handles routine deep closures. Then the 20 and 23 cm sizes extend into the pelvis and chest. So the pattern suits deep abdominal and thoracic closures.
Choosing a pattern
Pick the Langenbeck-Delicate needle holder when standard jaws feel too bulky. However, choose a mini profile holder if you mostly use finer sutures. For heavier needles, a Hegar or Mayo-Hegar pattern may suit better.
Reprocessing Langenbeck-Delicate needle holder
Clean the narrow jaws with a small brush after each use. Next, rinse the ratchet and joint well. Finally, dry the holder and close it on the first ratchet tooth only.
