Description
Langenbeck Needle Holder
The Langenbeck needle holder combines ring handles with slender jaws. It gives a light, precise hold for general and plastic suturing.
Smooth stainless jaws
The stainless Langenbeck needle holder has smooth jaws with no serration. So it holds fine sutures without marking the thread. Also, the smooth face suits delicate plastic closures.
Tungsten carbide inserts
The carbide version adds hard inserts to the jaw faces. As a result, the grip resists wear, and gold handles tell it apart on the tray. Then the carbide keeps its bite through many cycles.
Four lengths
Choose 15 or 16 cm for superficial closure. Meanwhile, the 18 and 20 cm sizes add reach for deeper layers. So one pattern covers both surface and deep suturing.
Choosing a version
Pick the stainless Langenbeck needle holder when you want a gentle hold on fine thread. However, choose tungsten carbide if you place many sutures each week. Since the inserts outlast plain steel, that grip holds up for longer.
Cleaning Langenbeck needle holder
Rinse blood from the jaws before it dries. Then brush the box joint and the inserts, and dry every surface. Also, check that the jaws meet evenly along their length.
